Arrive at Heraklion airport and transfer to hotel.
After breakfast meet your local tour walking guide at the reception of the hotel. Departure for a nice tour introducing you Crete and its countryside. Near the village of Mirtia you will start our hike. You cross the Kounavi Gorge, where a scenery path goes along and over the water stream through lush vegetation. In early spring time we may see rare flowers, such as orchids. The hike continues along olive trees and vineyards slightly up to the village Skalani. In this typical Cretan village you see day to day live and have free time to take a lunch in a local tavern.
Along the north coast with views on the mountains, bays and cliffs in western direction. Near the village Archea Eleftherna starts the walk along remains of ancient periods. You walk in a beautiful countryside and reach via the lush green the pottery village Margarites. See the local potter at work and learn about his traditional handicraft.
Drive up into Dicti mountain and see the Lassithi plateau. Your hike starts near the village Lagou. We follow a Minoan path with cobble stones and walk up to Karfi. Enjoy the beautiful views on the mountain peaks and the plain. Your downhill walk goes to the village Kera on the way we visit the Kardiotissa monastery with its Byzantine frescoes. We enjoy the beautiful views on the mountains, the dam and the sea when we walk a dirt road down to the village Gonies the finish of our walk.

A scenery drive along olive groves and vineyards brings us on the east slope of Mount Ida. Our walk starts near the village Assites, set in an agriculture region. During our walk we enjoy beautiful views, visit on the way a ceramic workshop and discover the technique of making an ancient Cretan rattle, visit the Antonios church from where a spectacular view in the narrow gorge. Our mostly downhill walk goes over dirt roads and paths between olive trees and vineyards. At the end of our hike we arrive in a the village Siva and visit a winery and taste some of the wines produced. An easy walk over dirt roads.
Via the Saint George gorge we drive east to the mountain village Kroustas, the starting point of your hike. During our hike over paths and dirt roads you see olive groves, almond trees, herbs and a small church. After the hike we stop on the way back in the picturesque town of Agios Nikolaos with its lake and string of shops in the narrow streets.
